Embed the tax calculator on your site

Give your readers a take-home pay calculator that also shows where their income tax and National Insurance go. It is free, has no ads or cookies, and updates itself when the rates change.

The code

Paste this where you want the calculator to appear. It sizes itself to fit.

<div class="wdmtg"><script src="https://wheredoesmytaxgo.co.uk/embed.js" async></script><p style="font-size:13px;margin:6px 0 0">Tax calculator by <a href="https://wheredoesmytaxgo.co.uk/">Where does my tax go?</a></p></div>

If your site does not allow scripts (some blog platforms), use an iframe instead:

<iframe src="https://wheredoesmytaxgo.co.uk/widget/" title="Where does my tax go? Tax calculator" width="100%" height="640" style="border:0;max-width:640px" loading="lazy"></iframe>
<p style="font-size:13px;margin:6px 0 0">Tax calculator by <a href="https://wheredoesmytaxgo.co.uk/">Where does my tax go?</a></p>

To start on a salary or nation, add data-salary="45000" or data-country="sco" to the script tag, for example:

<div class="wdmtg"><script src="https://wheredoesmytaxgo.co.uk/embed.js" data-salary="45000" data-country="sco" async></script><p style="font-size:13px;margin:6px 0 0">Tax calculator by <a href="https://wheredoesmytaxgo.co.uk/">Where does my tax go?</a></p></div>

Frequently asked questions

Is the tax calculator widget free?

Yes. You can embed it on any website, including commercial sites, at no cost. We ask that you keep the "Tax calculator by" link under it.

Does the widget use cookies or show ads?

No. It shows no ads and sets no cookies. It counts how often it is viewed with privacy-friendly analytics that do not identify visitors.

Will it stay up to date?

Yes. The widget runs from our site, so when tax rates or spending figures change, every embedded copy updates on its own. It currently uses 2026/27 rates and HM Treasury's 2025-26 spending figures.

Can I set the starting salary or nation?

Yes. Add data-salary, data-country (eng, sco, wal or ni) or data-theme (light or dark) to the script tag, or the same as ?salary=, ?country= and ?theme= on the iframe address.
